2005 Individual Accomplishments

While I congratulate ALL our Astros players on a fine year I will also recognize some of our boys on an individual basis. 2005 Astros CO-MVP's are Junior Fair & Dan Levine!! Junior did his talking on the mound and compiled 15 wins while imposing a dominate figure while toting the rubber. Dan Levine not only pounded the ball and led the team in doubles & RBI's but his baserunning and cannon from RF contributed to many victories as well. Ryan Rusoff led the team in hits and batting average and was our most consistent hitter. Cam Maron & Ethan Peck both played marvelous behind the plate while also contributing offensively as Cam led the team in triples and Ethan finished second in doubles and RBI's. Mike Sciortino played a spectacular CF and led the team with an incredible 60 steals! JC Clancy found his knack and excelled in his middle relief & closer role coming into many games and just shutting down the opposition. Joining our club in either the summer or fall and making an immediate impact were sluggers Vinny Iannece and David Bernardi. Joe Lawrence pitched his way to 4 fall victories while slamming the baseball at the plate. Zack Root was our Mr. versatility as he excelled while playing practically every position. Scott Mishan played a sleek OF while using his combination of speed & power to shine and Justin Neuwirt offered numerous gems as our finesse lefty pitcher. To view 2005 year end stats click here.

JC Clancy and TJ Arsenault (3 wins apiece) contribute mightily with huge victories during the summer season while Matt Malley and Justin Neuwirt chip in with 2 wins apiece. Ryan Rusoff had a team leading 37 hits and finishes 2nd with a .536 batting average! Vinny Iannece leads the team with 3 homeruns and a .630 batting average while finishing 2nd with 23 RBI's! Mike Sciortino plays a stellar CF while also leading in runs with 39, steals with 27 and 6 HBP! Dan Levine was our most consistent performer hitting the ball hard all summer while banging out 34 hits which was 2nd best on the team! Dan led in triples with 3 while finishing 2nd with 6 doubles and 13 steals! Zach Root leads the Astros with 24 RBI's and 7 doubles as he was also one of our most versatile fielders playing almost every position at one point or another during the season! Scott Mishan contributes in limited time by playing a strong defensive OF and banging out 3 triples and a homerun! Matt Malley leads with 3 triples & 6 HBP while playing a defensive shortstop that most kids can only dream about! Our field general, Cam Maron, provided the Astros with the leadership and presence behind the dish to make us a force to be reckoned with all season! Thanks to all the parents who offered their assistance at one point or another & special thanks to coach Mike Sciortino, without his time, dedication and support I'd personally be in a mental institution!
