Saturday 6/7 The Astros and Pough. Brewers split a pair as the Astros drop the opener by the score of 16-5 and our pitching and defense fail us big-time in a disappointing effort. Kevin Lao and Chris Sano each deliver 2 hits with an RBI each. The Astros show some grit and determination and come back strong in the nightcap with a 6-3 victory. The Brewers jump out early with 2 runs in the 1st inning but from there Connor Henson  (ND) 5 2/3 2 earned settles down and throws a solid game allowing another run in the bottom half of the 6th as the Brewers and Astros enter the 7th tied up at 3 apiece. Monday 6/16 The Astros defeat the LI Storm by the score of 5-0 behind Rob Fitzpatrick (W) who goes the distance in a complete game shutout striking out 5 and allowing only 2 hits in a fantastic effort! Joe Morris sets the tone in the leadoff spot scoring twice with 2 RBI and a single and triple. Ivan Montanez also drives home 2 runs with a double and sac fly, good around effort be entire team. Tuesday 6/17 Not much good in this game as the Astros drop a 14-4 decision to the Astros West squad. Pitching on this night was poor at best as 13 runs are let in after 3 innings of play.

Thursday 6/19 The Astros and LI A's match up in a well played game that unfortunately see the Astros on the short end  of a 2-1 ballgame. The bats definitely needed to do more than just one single by Mike Aloisio but when you don't hit you typically don't win, tough loss to swallow but we look forward to our next match-up. Craig Kelly (L) throws 5 innings to take the loss but certainly throws well enought to win on any other night.

Sunday 6/22 Pitching, pitching and more pitching!!! The LI Astros and Somers Red Storm play 2 up in Katonah NY, the Astros sweep the day by the scores of 10-0 and 6-1. In the opener we welcome back Marco Martino (W) who is fantastic in his 1st start back from rehab, Marco goes the distance (6 IP) allowing a bunt single while striking out 8 with 1 BB, GREAT job Marco! The bats also come alive in the opener but none more than Kevin Lao who singles 3 times with an RBI and 2 runs scored, behind Kevin in the order is Brian Lau who also scores twice is HBP twice and  smash's a huge 3 run HR in the Astros 7 run 5th to put the game out of reach. In the nightcap the Astros close out the Somers Red Storm by the score of 6-1, Jonny Cheshire (W) allows 1 earned and 3 hits in his complete game victory. AJ Gallo (2 hits) is the hitting star in the nightcap delivering a huge 2 run single to put the Astros in front 4-0 in the home 5th inning, AJ also scored the Astros 1st run of the game on some very heady baserunning scoring from 3rd base while catching the opponent off-guard.
