LI Astros 17U are Baseball Heaven Labor Day 18U Tournament Champions! The boys go undefeated and win the trophy with a 3-1 victory on Labor Day Monday behind the complete game pitching of Zach Badanes in a dominating effort. Solid pitching and marvelous defense throughout the entire tournament are key in leading this group of marvelous young men to a 4-0-1 record! Astros 17U team participates in NABF World Series in Lynchburg, VA. (team photo below). The boys win 2 of 3 pool games and finish 2nd in their bracket while qualifying for the championship playoff round of 16. In their initial single elimination playoff game the boys take on Baseball U from NJ and lose a tough 1-0 decision as Dylan Harmon throws lights as the winning run scores on a fly ball triple that got lost in the lights followed by a sac fly. LI Astros 17U team participates in Blue Chip Prospects Tournament (6/26 - 6/28) and win 3 of their 4 games including a 4-2 victory over the 18U Titans Gold squad. Astros finish up pool play with a 2-1 record but do not qualify for the playoff round based on run differential tie-breaker, tough break as the boys played fantastic baseball. (Team pic below)

LI Astros finish runnerup in NJBL Memorial Day Tournament. On Monday the boys spank the NY Gothams 10-7 in the semifinal match-up but lose a tough 2-1 decision in the championship game versus the South Fork Sharks, the boys gave it a valiant effort but just fall short in a well played game.
