Game 1 - Astros 4 Milford 0                                                                                                                                                                                              WP Ryan Barth-Dwyer (1-0)

What more can we say other than Ryan Barth-Dwyer!! Ryan gets the Astros off to an orbiting beginning by completely shutting down the Milford team! Ryan allows only 1 baserunner, a leadoff walk and faced only 22 batters (1 over the minimum) while  striking out 13 batters and allowing NO HITS!!! WOOHOO!! What a pitching performance! The Astros played solid defense as Joe Lawrence saved the no-no for Ryan by making a beautiful backhand catch of a line drive down the 1st baseline in the 6th inning. David Bernardi also makes a fine play at 1st base on a hard hit short hop in the hole while outfielders Mike Sciortino & Dan Levine add defensive gems in CF & RF respectfully to preserve the no-hitter. The Astros scored all that they needed in the 1st inning as Cam Maron singles home Mike Sciortino who led off the game with a single & SB. Dan Levine and Ryan Rusoff add RBI singles in the 3rd and 4th innings and David Bernardi blasts a triple and single in his 2 at-bats. Great start Astros!

Game 2 - Astros 4 Eagles 3                                                                                                                                                                                              WP Dillon Harmon (1-0)

In what turns out to be our toughest game of the tournament the Astros squared off against the Eagles and their formidable righty throwing ace. The Astros score single runs in the first 3 innings as the Eagles match us and the game remains tied up until our last at-bat in the home 7th inning, the drama then unfolded fairly quickly......Dillon Harmon draws a lead off walk, steals second and scores the winner on a hard hit ball in the hole at short by big bad Dan Levine!! Astros win Astros win Astros win!!! JC Clancy threw 4 innings and kept the Astros in the game, PJ Lenz held the Eagles scoreless in the middle frames and Dillon Harmon came into the ballgame with 2 Eagle baserunners on and 1 out in the 7th, Dillon proceeded to get out of the jam without allowing any damage and setting up the fireworks in our last at bat. David Bernardi and Ethan Peck blast run scoring doubles and Ryan Rusoff adds a single and double while Scott Mishan legs out a triple.

Not much of a ballgame as the Astros completely dominate and run-rule the Pirates after 3 1/2 innings. PJ Lenz pitches into the 3rd inning for the victory as JC Clancy comes on to finish the game with 1+ innings of superb relief. The Astros begin smelling the sweet championship aroma at this point and await the Milford team as our next & last opponent on this beautiful Sunday in North Branford, CT.

Game 4 - Astros 7 Milford 3                                                                                                                                                                                              WP Joe Lawrence 1-0 Dillon Harmon (S1)

The Astros hand the ball to Joe Lawrence in the finale and he delivers a Championship effort!! Joe allows no hits thru 4 but a couple of errors in the 5th allow 2 unearned runs to score as Milford closes the gap to 5-3 after 5 innings of play. Dillon Harmon closes out matters with 2 innings of scoreless relief to pick-up the save. The Astros jumped out early with single runs in the first 2 innings on a run scoring single by David Bernardi and a run scoring ground out by Cam Maron. In the 3rd inning the Astros tack on 3 huge runs as Max Tecce and David Bernardi single and score on a loooooong double by big bad Dan Levine who then scores on a single by PJ Lenz. The Astros add on 2 more runs in the 5th inning as Vinnie Carminati and Dan Levine single and PJ Lenz adds another big run scoring single and Ryan Rusoff delivers with a sac fly to extend the lead back to 4 runs. Milford attempts to rally in the 7th inning but JC Clancy throws out a runner attempting to advance to 3rd base on a beautiful throw from leftfield. More defensive gems include a diving, stabbing grab on a liner to CF by Mike Sciortino and a beautiful backhand stab by PJ Lenz at IB on a shorthop throw from SS. A marvelous game all-around as the Astros close it out and take home the winners medals as Triple Crown Champions!
